I highly recommend Braids by Amy. She meticulously braids every strand of hair and does every style there is as far as braids, weaves, crochet, etc… I especially appreciated not having a headache during or after getting my hair braided nor did I spend my entire Saturday getting my hair done either. It was a great experience and I will definitely return.

After many years, I recently relocated from the NY/NJ area to VA, and I was very nervous about finding a new braid stylist who could match the quality I’ve been accustomed to over the years. I’ve been wearing braids and natural styles for 30+ years, so I’m very particular about both the quality of work and ethics. I’m so happy I found Braids by Amy! Amy is friendly, professional, welcoming, and very detail-oriented. She took her time to answer all my concerns prior to and made sure my braids were neat, comfortable, and EXACTLY the style I wanted. Her work came out beautiful! Her shop location is adjacent to her home — a small, quaint, and clean space that feels very inviting. Amy did a phenomenal job on my daughter's very long, very thick hair. She is the fastest braider we have ever met and her part lines are the most precise and even, as well. I honestly don't know how she is able to work that quickly and create such beautiful lines! Even more importantly, Amy is kind, welcoming, professional, and my daughter felt very safe with her. We are looking forward to being regular customers.
